Growing Tips: Everleaf Genovese basil should be planted in the garden, in outdoor containers, and indoors on a sunny windowsill in winter. It is said that companion planting with tomatoes and peppers enhance their growth and flavor. Grow in well-drained, compost-enriched soil in full sun. Basil doesn’t mind slightly acid soil or the light shade of trees. Be sure to plant out only when nights are consistently warm, 50°F and warmer. Water regularly in the garden; more often if grown in containers. Pinch out flower buds as they appear just above the leaves on the stem and do not allow it to flower. Genovese is slower to bolt (flower) thanR27 other basils.
